How to Clean your Laptop/Gadget for Better Overall Performance

you want a clean laptop?
How do you feel when you sit in-front of a dirty screen of laptops or TV? If you want your laptops, gadgets to always look cleans and lovely to the watch, then you need to start thinking of how to clean it from the screen, body to the keyboard.
No matter the make or model, it doesn't take long for a laptop or gadget to start looking tired, from a smudged screen and a filthy keyboard to dirty, dusty vents and ports.

Since laptops are made to be used outside of the usual office environments, they tend to get dirty much more quickly than their desktop counterparts. Note that the keyboards in particular are delicate and should be clean gently to ensure no crack.

Benefits:
Laptop/Gadget cleaning is a quick fix for sticky keys and blurred screens. In just a few minutes, cleaning can improve the overall performance of your notebook.

Tools for Cleaning
  • A soft lint free cloth or an old brush or compressed air or a computer vacuum.
  • Mild dish detergent
  • Isopropyl rubbing alcohol
Steps in Cleaning
1. Turn off your laptop. Give it a minute or so to totally power down and then unplug it.

2. Remove the battery, if your model allows such.

3. Mix a couple drops of mild detergent (like mr. Sheen) together to clean your screen first and remember that it is fragile. Do check your manufacturer’s recommendation for the best way to clean yours. Though, in most cases, all you need to do is wipe it with the soft lint free cloth,  making sure to clean the excess moisture. Most importantly, unless you manufacturer recommends differently, don’t use alcohol or ammonia based cleaners.

4. Then the keyboard. The issue here is not to let any liquid drip down underneath your keyboard. Use the can of compressed air to remove any dust and debris that are lying in the crevices in between the keys. After that, dab a lint-free cloth in isopropyl rubbing alcohol and gently rub your keys. You might be able to remove some stains with soap and water, but isopropyl rubbing alcohol is better for two reasons. For one, it evaporates almost immediately, which greatly reduces the risk of liquid getting inside your laptop. Secondly, it's effective in removing the oily residue left behind by your fingertips. Another thing you can do is to remove crumbs and debris using your brush (or compressed air or vacuum).

5. Lastly, clean the vents and use a can of compressed air to blow the dust bunnies out; this will not only make your laptop look better, but it can also improve performance by letting your laptop better control its temperature with a clean vent. If there is a dust bunny that you see is stuck behind the vent that you can't dislodge by blasting it with compressed air, then consult your user manual on how to open the case or contact depolie technologies. Remember always to check your manufacturer’s recommendations.

6. Clean the whole body.

Note:
Always use a lint free cloth to clean your computer.
Never spray any cleaner directly onto your computer. Always wet the cloth with the cleaner whether  using water, a homemade solution, or a commercial preparation.
